George R. Smith, M.D.

Dr. Smith (aka “Smitty”) is a Board-Certified Comprehensive Ophthalmologist with vast experience in many sub-specialties of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Smith is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, Maryland, the Ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and has many years of primary ophthalmic care with patients of all age groups and range of needs. He has a wealth of surgical experience in cataracts, glaucoma, and LASER Vision Correction. He also enjoys routine exams, acute care, and has a special interest in taking care of PEOPLE who happen to have Eye Problems!

He, having retired from the Army in the rank of Colonel after 28 years of service, with multiple peacetime and combat awards and decorations; particularly enjoys taking care of Veterans, military retirees, and their families. He is also happy to see children over the age of two.
